Problem: The text on some web sites is still too small even when I try to increase it in my browser.
Microsoft Windows does come equipped with a simple magnification tool that you can use to greatly increase any part of your display area. This can often be found by selecting the Start button in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen and then navigating to Programs - Accessories - Accessibility - Magnify. The Magnification tool can then be personalised according to your own needs.
If you cannot find the Magnify option, it may be that it hasn't been installed in your version of Windows - in which case, you will need install it as part of the Accessibility options using your Windows CD.
There are also some third-party magnification tools available such as ZoomText and MAGic.
You can find more information on magnification software from the RNIB web site and The Screen Magnifiers Homepage.
You may also benefit from using a web browser that allows you to access alternative "views" of those web sites that offer large text versions of their standard presentation.
